Information we collect

This policy applies to Pure Masa LLC, operating as Vermont Tortilla Company, and covers our website, purchases, and customer and wholesale communications.

We collect information you provide through orders, contact forms, wholesale inquiries, newsletter signups, and direct communication. This may include your name, email address, business name, phone number, location, and message.

For purchases, we receive billing and shipping details, items ordered, payment status, and order history. Payment details are submitted through Shopify checkout and the payment service you choose. For gifts sent to another person, we use the recipient’s contact information, sender details, and any gift message to arrange delivery and support the gift.

Our website and purchasing services also receive technical information, such as IP address, device and browser details, cookie identifiers, referring pages, and shopping activity.

How we use your information

We use your information for legitimate business purposes, including:

• Responding to inquiries and providing product or wholesale information
• Processing orders, payments, deliveries, gift cards, returns, and customer support
• Sending order confirmations and other messages about your requests
• Sending product news and offers according to your marketing preferences
• Improving our website, shopping experience, and advertising

Third party services

We share information needed for a service with providers that support our business: Shopify and payment providers for purchasing; shipping providers for delivery; Google email services for communications and gift emails; and hosting, analytics, and advertising providers for website operations and marketing. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to address fraud or protect legal rights.

Our online purchasing is powered by Shopify. Shopify processes information about your visits and purchases, including through Shopify Network Intelligence, which combines information about interactions with our store, other merchants, and Shopify to improve services, personalization, and advertising. We use Brevo to manage newsletter signups, subscriber preferences, and email updates. When you sign up, your email address and related signup information are processed through Brevo. See Brevo’s Privacy Policy. You can unsubscribe through the link in our emails.

Some providers process information for us; others also use it for their own purposes as described in their policies. Links to separate experiences, including TillaCrunch, lead to services with their own privacy information.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies and similar technologies remember shopping sessions and preferences, support security, and help measure website and advertising performance. They can collect identifiers and activity linked to a browser, device, or customer, which can be personal information.

Shopify and other analytics or advertising providers may collect information about activity over time and across different websites or services. Shopify’s Cookie Policy describes its cookies, purposes, and durations.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary storage may affect your cart or checkout. Our website does not change its behavior in response to the older “Do Not Track” browser signal. Use the privacy choices below to make a request or manage Shopify’s use of your information.

Data security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us. While no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, we work to safeguard data using appropriate technical and organizational measures.

We retain information for the purposes described in this policy. The retention period depends on ongoing orders, gift-card balances, customer or wholesale relationships, support needs, tax and accounting obligations, fraud prevention, and legal claims. We retain unsubscribe records as needed to respect your marketing choices.

Your choices

You can ask what information we hold about you, request a copy or correction, or request deletion by emailing info@vttortillaco.com or using our contact form. Include the email associated with your order or inquiry. We may need to verify your identity before providing or changing records. Deletion is subject to requirements to retain information, including records needed for orders, gift-card balances, and legal obligations.

You can also contact us to opt out of sharing or use of your information for targeted advertising. To manage Shopify’s own use of your information, including personalized advertising based on activity across merchants, use Shopify’s privacy portal. Additional rights, including appeal rights, may apply under the laws where you live. Send an appeal to the same email with “Privacy appeal” in the subject. We handle requests within applicable legal time limits and do not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

To stop promotional emails, use the unsubscribe link in the email or contact us. Order confirmations, gift delivery, and replies to your requests are handled separately. Receiving a gift card does not by itself subscribe the recipient to marketing emails.

Policy updates

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy here with its effective date. For material changes, we will provide a prominent website notice or contact affected customers directly, as appropriate, and obtain consent where required.
