Delicious Hyper-local Organic Yellow Corn Tortillas: how local can you get?
Mark Wrisley from "Adirondack Hay and Grains" delivers our local organic corn

Here at the Vermont Tortilla Company, we take pride in crafting our tortillas with care using local organic corn sourced from Essex, NY, just a short 12-mile journey from our factory. After being carefully harvested, our corn embarks on a scenic ferry ride across Lake Champlain to reach our doorstep.

We strongly believe in fostering close relationships within our community. We personally know the farmer and his sons who cultivate the corn, having visited their farm and cornfields numerous times. With USDA certification, our commitment to organic standards is unwavering, ensuring the quality of our tortillas.

Procured in truckloads of 8 tons each, we invest in this premium-grade corn at a higher cost. Originally intended for animal feed, our farmer goes the extra mile to provide us with corn that's meticulously cleaned and prepared for human consumption.

FUN FACT: Did you know that each acre yields approximately three tons of corn? With an annual average of 40 to 50 tons, we churn out an impressive 1.5 million tortillas per year. That's a whole lot of deliciousness!
